Welcome to the Kids Direct website!

Kids Direct magazine was first published in the Cambridge area in 1995 as a small 16-page family magazine. It was a hit from the beginning with both parents and advertisers, and its continued success and growth can be largely attributed to the loyal support of the people in the community that it serves. I 'stumbled' into the world wide web in 1998 in order to make information available to families who did not receive a copy of the magazine. The web site also enabled me to bridge the gap between issues of the magazine and provide more detailed information, as I am not constrained by the amount of space available.

I have received many requests to launch further editions of the magazine, so as my own children have got older (and been recruited to help!), I have been able to launch a separate edition for Ely & Newmarket, and now a new edition for Bury St Edmunds.

The aim of the magazine and web site has been to provide local parents with information that is useful, practical and up-to-date, and whilst I do keep my 'ear to the ground', I do depend on other parents to help keep me up-to-date, particularly as my own children are now nearly all in their teens. So if you see anything on this site that needs amending or know of something or somewhere that you think should be included, please do get in touch.
